An international hospital company is opening a 160 bed world class multi-specialty hospital in Lagos. This will be the first truly world class international hospital in Nigeria. We are looking for the dedicated and experienced managers and administrators to build the systems and structures our hospital will run on. If you are interested in being part of the team that will pioneer the future of healthcare in Nigeria as the IT manager, we would love to meet you.  

The ideal candidate is a seasoned technology professional with proven track record, to help manage our systems, and direct the future growth of the IT infrastructure of the hospital. You will also need to coordinate across future centres in Nigeria in order to help serve the entire centres. Working to keep our technology up to date as the hospital scales, as well as anticipate and address our future needs and challenges, you will help scale this unit to anticipate future needs and challenges using deep technical knowledge and building long-term initiatives.


  • Supervise and provide technical guidance to the IT team required to support a large and modern health facility
  • Oversee daily operations of the department, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards, and setting deadlines
  • Design and implement critical Change Controls within the network environment
  • Identify and implement service measures and automation processes to enhance stability and productivity
  • Identify security and compliance risks within the hospital by role, software, information type, other categories, and define acceptable mitigation strategies
  • Create and deliver security training for employees to ensure compliance with those policies
  • Perform regular reviews of roadmaps, measures, and services for availability, capacity, and scale
  • Manage and oversee periodic audits, risk assessments, and security tests
  • Manage the hospital’s disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Coordinate system upgrades, patches and related functions to support hardware and software of the hospital systems
  • Participate in site setup, user training, hardware/software  installation, maintenance and support documentation of hardware/software logs and operating procedures
  • Manage various systems and projects, for example HRIS, and new office setup
  • Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements, and recommend improvements
  • Responsible for all of the analytics, IT security and risk mitigation efforts in the department
  • Provide technical guidance and assist in the training of less experienced administrators
  • Participate in all relevant leadership committee and meetings related to institutional IT initiatives and efforts
  • Provide leadership for system and procedural standardization; evaluate current and future systems from the perspective of consolidation
  • Maintain the department’s network architecture blueprint
  • Remain current on broad technology infrastructure changes in the industry to help maintain a modern health facility competitive advantage, maximize performance, and ensure that all technology satisfies compliance requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 Role Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in either IT, system analysis, design, programming, development, maintenance, enhancement or support roles and/or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information System (MIS), Computer Information System (CIS), or other relevant fields
  • Strong healthcare IT and analytics background
  • Demonstrated skill and effectiveness in designing systems for data analytics for higher level management decision making
  • Experience in working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
  • Experience in project management including the ability to define objectives, identify stakeholders, plan and coordinate to accomplish goals and objectives in a resourceful and timely manner
  • Superior leadership qualities on meeting deadlines, motivating and mentoring team, and effective decision making 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop processes in the department

Nice-to-have Skills

  • Familiarity with healthcare workflows and terminology desirable
  • At least 3 years of experience in healthcare Information Technology roles including/or hospital and clinical applications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with direct management responsibilities for 4 or more personnel
