An international hospital company is opening a 160 bed world class multi-specialty hospital in Lagos. This will be the first truly world class international hospital in Nigeria. We are looking for the dedicated and experienced managers and administrators to build the systems and structures our hospital will run on. In this role, you’ll perform a wide range of responsibilities within a framework set by leadership in support of the HR Manager to deliver overall provision of Human Resource services, policies, and programmes for the hospital in Lagos.  Partnering with leaders by building strong relationships and act as trusted advisor on topics including but not limited to:  Performance Management, Learning and Development, Coordination of employee policies, Compensation and Benefits, Talent Management, and HR Services.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HR functional partners to execute human resources strategies and deliver seamless support and integration
  • Assess the overall health of the organisation to ensure staff members are equipped with the skills needed to be successful
  • Own and manage leadership development through data collation and observation
  • Support leadership in empowerment of their teams by planning and delivering innovative solutions and ideas that add value to operations
  • Collaborate with Manager to investigate employee relation issues, policy violations, recommend appropriate corrective actions and identify behavior improvement
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify root causes of issues
  • Actively promote and support new ways of working and continuous improvement within HR to provide a high quality, professional, consistent, and cohesive HR Service. This includes: working collaboratively and communicating proactively, understanding the needs of, and eliciting feedback from patients and stakeholders, and identifying innovations to enhance service delivery and quality care
  • Facilitate onboarding activities
  • Pro-actively seek opportunities to positively impact the business and improve human efficiencies
  • Implement retention strategies following data and trend analysis
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Complete human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results and other team leadership responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Role Requirements

  • At least 2+ years of experience in HR operation, local to Lagos region
  • Minimum of University degree in Human Resource or other relevant fields, and/or other recognised professional qualifications
  • Working knowledge and experience of Employee Relations and/or Performance Management concepts and practices
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Ability to be flexible, self-motivated, handle multiple demands, and resolve issues quickly
  • Effective at building relationships at all levels
  • Strong computer skills and aptitude to easily learn web-based softwares
  • Willingness to stay updated on best practices and laws


  • Knowledge of healthcare workflow and terminology desirable
  • Knowledge of hospital operations and the responsibilities of HR
